It turns out that he took 15 quarters of non-credit Conversational Mandarin at a local community college and found that it was a great way to find people to practice with. He has a lot of fun with it and told me that he pretty much drank for free in Beijing and Taipei just from the shirt. He also said that no Chinese person has ever been offended, but a few Whites and most Blacks fail to see the humour.
